Disability Insurance
Facts and Statistics

Many people across the United States suffer from unfortunate disabilities. In Florida, it is estimated that 2,496,000 people, or 15.7% of the population, have a disability. Of those, 1,179,000, or 11.6% of the Florida population, are of working age. These people are often left without the abilities to work, and consequently cannot pay all of their bills without assistance or disability insurance. In fact, roughly 1,417,000 people with disabilities in Florida suffer from work related or work hindering disabilities.

Do you worry that you might not be able to cover expenses if a disability should strike you unexpectedly?

The amount of people with disabilities varies across the states. In Ohio, an estimated 1,672,000 people, or 16% of the population, suffer from some sort of disability. Of those, 885,000 are currently of working age. Unfortunately, 923,000 suffer from a disability they got from work in Ohio.

Many others across the United States are hindered by disability. In Michigan alone, an estimated 1,450,000 people are currently disabled. That is 15.8% of the Ohio population. Of those disabled, 782,000 are of working age. 803,000 disabled Ohio residents suffer from a work disability. Disability is problematic for many Americans and often arises unexpectedly. For this reason, it is crucial that workers have a plan that will allow them to get through any unfortunate problems that may arise.
