Michigan HMO Health Insurance Plan News
Michigan: Office of Financial and Insurance Services (OFIS) Commissioner Linda A. Watters – in her capacity as court-appointed Liquidator for Michigan HMO Plans, Inc. (formerly OmniCare Health Plan) – announced that eligible medical providers of Michigan HMO Plans, Inc. have been repaid what they were owed.
“I am pleased to report that 92,296 claims have been processed, reviewed, and paid,” Watters said. “I am also pleased to say that all provider claims were paid at 100%.” According to the order issued by Circuit Court Judge James Giddings, OFIS has paid in-full all providers who filed timely claims with the liquidator. Hospitals, facilities, physicians and ancillary providers were paid a total of $12,946,423.91 for pre-liquidation claims.
The completion of Michigan HMO Plans, Inc.’s payout in liquidation marks yet another successfully administered estate under OFIS, according to Watters. The Wellness Plan paid its providers pre-rehabilitation claims at 100%. Community Choice Michigan emerged from rehabilitation, with all provider claims paid in full during the rehabilitation process. “OFIS is committed to ensuring that providers are paid according to the terms of their respective contracts, and I am proud that we have been consistently able to achieve this goal,” Watters said.
